Just watched this
movie from Netflix....if you want to watch a surfing movie (really, a bioptic)
...this is the one... I knew
Half Moon Bay from my Navy/MGB days... These waves make Oahu's north
shore look tame... Movie has flaws, but the surfing ain't one of them...
Maverick Review
Gotta love Netflix, 2 flixs watched before this were Argo & then the 50+ year old B&W Notorious Landlady, with Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon, Fred Astaire & the wonderful Lionel Jefferies... The ending of that movie puts it at the top of these 3 movies, & ahead of a heck of a lot more... all worth watching, & I love the diversity/incongruity of putting these 3 movies into my own unique "triple-feature"…

From the IMDb
reviews…
“This has got to be one of the funniest movies
ever produced. Jack Lemmon and Kim Novak are truly outstanding. Easy to follow,
with twists that keep you guessing. Kim Novak is the attractive American landlady.
Jack Lemmon is the American diplomat. Together they make magic as the plot's
twist and turns develop. This is a must see for Novak fans. If you like a good
old fashion mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat. and laughing, this
is the film to see. Fred Astaire also gives a very good performance. As Jack
Lemmon's boss, he also is taken with the charm and beauty of Novak. The laughs
keep coming as the the two of them, Lemmon and Astaire, do everything in their
power to help Novak in her time of need. If you love Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon,
and Fred Astaire than this movie is for you.”
I personally think the final chase scene with
the band playing that wonderful Gilbert & Sullivan music is perfect!
…thinking
a specialty…
